Someone passed two tests today to be a Veritas Certified High Availability Professional… Yes beotches!
I am in Veritas Clustering class at the moment in NYC and writing this post on my new smartphone, the Motorola Q. That’s pretty cool, in a nerdy kind of way.
But you can’t upload photos with the Q ie browser. I’m gonna have to look into that.

Being a UNIX admin is cool. You're an expert in a valuable technical niche that's highly in demand. You don't compete with college grads for jobs because they don't teach enterprise UNIX in colleges.
So the bottom line is you're highly paid and in demand… until shit like this happens. When Sun lays off people it sucks because no hot-shot UNIX admin wants to compete with hundreds of laid off Sun Unix admins for jobs.
Unfortunately those are the breaks when you make your living working for other people. Market forces and Sun layoffs can jeopardize your livelihood. What's a nerd to do?
VS.
Symantec is suing Microsoft claiming Vista and Longhorn are based on Veritas Storage Technology that Microsoft does not have the right to use. In addition, Symantec says that Microsoft tried to fraudulently patent Veritas IP.
Talk about poetic justice
Microsoft is being accused of stealing software.
